Schneider Announces EcoStruxure Open Automation Platform

Schneider Electric has unveiled its vision for open automation and debuted its new software-centric industrial automation system, EcoStruxure™ Automation Expert.

The EcoStruxure Open Automation Platform supports mainstream IT best practices and uses advanced technologies such as predictive maintenance and digital twinning to deliver step-change improvements in asset and workforce efficiency. In addition, it reduces the total cost of ownership by combining legacy systems with a "precipitate and reuse" approach.
  
 The EcoStruxure Open Automation Platform is the first step toward open automation," said Fabrice Jadot, senior vice president, head of next-generation automation, Schneider Electric. To realize the full potential of the next generation of the industry, a new mindset is required. Adherence to common, open standards is essential to ensure multi-vendor interoperability and a seamless transition throughout the supply chain, from manufacturing to production to the end customer.
