Do you know what Tanabata Festival is ?

Tanabata Festival, also known as Qiqiao Festival, Qiqiao festival or Qijie birthday, originated in China. It

is a traditional festival in Chinese areas and East Asian countries. It comes from the legend of Cowherd and

Zhinv and is celebrated on the seventh day of July in the lunar calendar. Because the main participants of this

day's activities are girls, and the content of festival activities is mainly begging for dexterity, people call this

day "begging for dexterity Festival" or "girls' Day" and "daughters' Day". On May 20, 2006, Tanabata was

listed in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list by the State Council of China.

Tanabata Festival takes the folklore of Cowherd and weaver girl as the carrier, expresses the emotion of

staying together and growing old together between married men and women, and abides by the commitment

of both sides to love. Over time, Tanabata has become Chinese Valentine's day.
