Emerson Announces Acquisition of OSI to Strengthen Power Transmission and Distribution Software Products

Emerson recently announced the acquisition of OSI Corporation, a leading provider of operational technology software, for $1.6 billion in cash, adding to Emerson's robust portfolio of software products that help customers in the global power industry and other end markets digitally transform their businesses, seamlessly integrate renewable energy and improve energy efficiency and reliability.

Digital transformation is key to modernizing the power sector and improving grid reliability. Integrating renewables such as solar and wind requires balancing the volatility of renewables with the bi-directional demands of the grid. The acquisition enables Emerson to combine its power industry expertise and technology leadership with OSI software across transmission and distribution to provide customers with end-to-end capabilities to monitor and optimize real-time operations across the entire power enterprise through scalable software automation and data management capabilities.
